Undergraduate students outside of a 40-mile commuter radius are required to live on campus the first two years, but many students choose to stay either on campus or in our unique student neighborhood of porch-clad houses all four years. In fact, 85% of all UD students live on campus or in the student neighborhood.
Can freshman have cars at University of Dayton?
First-year residential students will not be permitted to bring vehicles to campus. Upper-class students in UD Residential Housing will be sold permits online, with priority given according to class at http://parking.udayton.edu.

Off-campus housing is available to current students, as well as entering students, with a variety of housing options available in the Dayton area. Rental units are available in a host of apartment complexes as well as in private homes, town homes and condominiums in the Miami Valley.

Yes, UD does have a reputation for being a “party school” but just because we have that reputation, doesnt mean you have to be apart of it, or be labeled for choosing something else instead of partying. Classes are very diverse, and many classes will have group work.
