HOPE provides $167.00 per credit hour for the 2019-2020 academic year. Students are evaluated at 30, 60, and 90 attempted hours and at the end of every spring term. If you lose HOPE, you may regain your eligibility only at the 30th, 60th or 90th attempted hour. You may lose and regain HOPE one time.
How much does HOPE Scholarship cover at KSU?
The HOPE covers approximately 90% of standard tuition costs at KSU. You can qualify as a graduating high school senior with a 3.0 HOPE GPA. If you don’t graduate as a HOPE Scholar, you can earn the HOPE Scholarship by obtaining a 3.0 HOPE GPA in college and attempting 30, 60 or 90 semester hours.
How much does the HOPE grant cover?
The Grant provides a one-time $500 HOPE award that can be used toward tuition, books or other educational costs at an eligible college or university in Georgia. Full-time enrollment is not required. Students must use their HOPE GED Grant award within 24 months of the date of their GED diploma.
How many credits does HOPE Scholarship cover?
Award Amounts. For 2020-2021, the HOPE Scholarship pays a maximum of $7,680 for two semesters of enrollment in 15 HOPE eligible credits per term. Actual payment amounts for HOPE will be pro-rated down for students enrolled in fewer than 15 eligible hours.
How do I know if I qualify for HOPE Scholarship?
To be eligible for the HOPE Scholarship, you must meet the following requirements:
- Must complete an application: FAFSA or GSFAPPS.
- Meet US citizenship or eligible non-citizen requirements.
- Be registered with Selective Service, if required.
- Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress as defined by the college.

HOPE does not cover fees, books or housing. Zell Miller Scholarship, like HOPE is funded by the Georgia Lottery for education and is for eligible Georgia residents who graduated from a HOPE-approved high school.
Does Hope pay for private colleges?
A student must also graduate with a 3.7 High School HOPE GPA and must have a score of 1200 (CR+M) on a single administration of the SAT or a 26 ACT Composite and must maintain a college cumulative GPA of a 3.3. This Scholarship will pay for 100% of tuition, including $4,000 at private colleges.
What percentage does hope cover?
The current percentage for: Bachelor’s degree is 85.83% of tuition or $256.00 per credit hour. Associate degree is 93.68% of tuition or $89.00 per credit hour.
CAN YOU LOSE HOPE Scholarship?
Students who lose the HOPE scholarship at a 30, 60 or 90 hour checkpoint, or an End-of-Spring checkpoint may regain eligibility if they have a 3.0 at the point of attempting 60 or 90 semester hours. After a student has attempted 90 credits, he or she cannot be reevaluated.
